The muses has gone!

A bad thing has happened, I am in the doldrums with picture taking. No matter what I try I just do not seem to see the picture/photograph/image!! This is very frustrating as I have to submit my images for the club monthly competition. This months set subject is 'Flowers - an unusual shot'. I have tried dead flowers (actually an Artichoke), No not what I was looking for. So then I tried some macros, well I think I must go for lessons again, got it all wrong, the theory was there but not the shot. I have a few days left so I am going to try the macro again, this time I will use the 20mm or 15mm extension tubes (not at the same time). What I am looking for is a shot of a white/pale yellow/pale pink rose bud, sort of 1/2 to 2/3 open. Focus dead center or the frame and the colour blown to total white at the edge with the hint of a shadow where the petals would be forming the bud. WHEN I get it right I will put it up on the gallery.

Bobos with the new camera!

I do not know what I was thinking of when I set the ISO whilst out at sea with Ocean Blue Safaris at Plettenberg Bay. Overcast sky, moving boat, swimming dolphins and I set my ISO at 100 or 200. shutter speed at between 1/80th and 1/200th. No wander they are blurred, not camera shake, just too slow a shutter speed!! Idiot I am. Oh well at least I will have another chance later in the year or just maybe I can convince my sister and family to go out towards the end of next month. Will let you know. Late again!!

I had intended to put fingers to keyboard once a week, but last week (sorry one week back from last) it was my birthday! Boy what a party!! Took one week for everyone to recover. Then last Friday I must have a rush of blood to the brain, (or something else) I went out a bought a new camera. Fuji Finepix S5 Pro.  The trusty Pentax has now been relegated to being the support camera in Carethas' hands. More news coming on Friday.
